Southern IFCA have developed a map layer, available through Google Maps, which can be used by all stakeholders to understand the location of spatial regualtions within the District that are applicable to multiple sectors.
The map layer is designed to allow stakeholders and wider marine users to view their location in relation to certain spatial regulations implemented by Southern IFCA to aid voluntary compliance with those regulations, and also help further understandings of the spatial extent of different regulations & how they apply to different fisheries and across different timescales depending on the nature and purpose of that management measure.
The Google Maps Tool currently shows the spatial areas for the following regulations:
The map can be viewed on the Southern IFCA website - this function will not show you your location in relation to the map, only the location and extent of the spatial regulations
The map can also be viewed on your own device such as a tablet or mobile phone - this function will enable you to see your location in relation to the spatial regulations. Please see the section below for details on how to set this up on your device.
